The Secret Weapon

You're interested, I know. Weapons are useful tools that help us to deal with incredible feats. Take a look at swords and knives for instance. They have been around for millennia, and have helped shape the world we live in now. Guns, even more so. But I have a little secret, this special weapon can possibly change the world, but more importantly, it can change your personal world for the better. This secret weapon opens new ways of emotional exploration and understanding that you never knew was possible. You ready for this? It's so simple you probably didn't know it was a weapon at all. MINDFULNESS. Okay, hear me out. You've probably heard about mindfulness a million times and you're thinking, "Yeah, yeah, yeah Amanda, but how is that going to change my world for the better?."

Your mind time travels everyday. You're constantly thinking about what you're going to make for dinner, or how come you didn't speak up for yourself at yesterday's meeting. Does thinking about "stuff" ever stop, or is your brain on the go constantly? Well, mindfulness or staying in the present moment is the key to true happiness, because happiness is all in your mind- in the present moment. It's not in the future, it's not in the past, and it's not in materialistic things. Mindfulness helps you to stop taking a ride down the rabbit hole and start living in the moment. Mindfulness helps you to feel and understand your emotions. Mindfulness helps you to be your own personal counselor and learn how and why you think and do the things you think and do. It's a beautiful secret weapon that many of us are not taught how to use. But just like everything, we need to practice if we're going to get good at something. So we need to practice mindfulness.
