7 Ways to Combat Depression
Depression affects over 280 million people throughout the world. Everyone gets depressed at least once throughout their life, some more so than others. We all suffer from depression at some point in our lives. There are different types of depression such as chronic depression, situational/stress depression, and depression from grief. Chronic depression is for those who experience depression constantly, even when life appears to be going well. People who experience this type of depression are usually depressed for months and years. Situational depression stems from the situation a person might be in at the time. Perhaps someone can’t find a job and is financially ruined. Maybe someone has a deadline they have to complete in a certain amount of time. These types of depression are situational, where if the situation changes for the better, then the person will start to feel better. Lastly, there is grief depression. This stems from the loss of a person or thing. Many people experience this type of depression at least once throughout their life. Perhaps someone close to you has died. Perhaps you’ve lost a dear relationship. With loss, comes grief. Part of grief is depression.
